Task management
On this page we split up the Apertus project in different SUB-projects.
Each project/task has it's own task head in order to prevent the project to split up in all directions.
ANYONE can join a sub-project by contacting the task head and write about his/her ideas or ask where he can help. We like to have as much people involved as possible, even the smallest contribution is greatly appreciated!
(contact us if you are interested in leading an empty sub-project/task)
Tasks/Sub Projects:

Custom Linux Distro for Viewfinder embedded system

-
Apertus Rods Support
Configurable rod support that mounts everything needed for the camera. Crucial is to use as few parts as possible to save production costs, easy to work with, strong, robust and nice designed.

-
Apertus Battery pack
Find or design the best solution to power the camera plus peripherals. A (mobile) Elphel runs on 12V to 36V and drains around 5W.

-
Dictator
Real buttons and controls using a micro-controller like an Arduino or Teensy board that connects to the camera's USB port.

-
Optical viewfinder
This is an optional project, because the Elphel Vision software should function as a viewfinder. We have experimented with an optical viewfinder before, but did not find a good solution yet.

-
Apertus Website
The website is online editable using Drupal. There is still a lot to be done, so please contact us to help with things like layout, Logo design and things like that.

-
Apertus documentary
We will be making a documentary film about the Apertus project. Most of it should be actually filmed with the camera itself. In some cases this is not possible of course.
